PHP Vulnerability: Mitigations Applied on AS Webagency Cloud Servers
An update on the work carried out and the status of shared hosting with external providers.
Significant vulnerabilities have recently been reported in PHP, a technology used to power many websites and web applications. These vulnerabilities can compromise server security and require intervention by those managing the hosting infrastructure.
On our AS Webagency Cloud servers we have applied mitigation measures as soon as they are available, taking timely action to reduce risks associated with reported vulnerabilities.
For sites hosted on shared hosting from external providers, such as OVH, Aruba and othersHowever, we are experiencing delays in the availability of updates. In these cases, server management and the application of fixes are the responsibility of the provider.
These timeframes do not depend on AS Webagency: Since we don't have administrative access to the infrastructure, we can't intervene directly to update PHP or apply mitigations at the server level.
It's worth remembering that updating your site, its plugins, or your theme doesn't replace updating PHP: these are separate tasks that also involve your hosting provider.
